The Claim Process Step by Step

After a collision, most insurance companies want you to get a quote from an approved repairer. At Spot On, we work with all major NZ insurers and can handle the assessment, quote, and repair process from start to finish.

What to Expect

  • Contact your insurer and lodge a claim
  • Book an assessment at an approved repairer
  • Your insurer reviews the repair quote
  • Work begins once approved – usually within 3-5 working days
  • You pay your excess; insurer pays the rest directly to the repairer

Tips for a Smoother Claim

Document the scene thoroughly with photos. Exchange details with all parties. Don’t admit liability at the scene. And choose a repairer with experience handling your insurer’s claims process – it makes a big difference to how smoothly things move.
